Local Beaches Sunshine Coast Australia
The local beaches on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia, are a beach lover's paradise. With miles of pristine coastline and crystal clear waters, these beaches offer lots of sunshine year-round, and an ideal setting for relaxation. It’s no wonder that tourists flock to the area every year. But with so many beaches to choose from, how do you know which ones are worth visiting? Let me guide you through the best local beaches on the Sunshine Coast.
Let's start with one of the most obvious beaches. No trip to the Sunshine Coast is complete without a visit to the iconic Noosa Beach. This beach is extremely popular with the Instagram crowd at the moment.
The crowds here can be truly off-putting. I suggest a visit during the off-season because Noosa Beach is beautiful and worth a visit. The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming, and the waves are gentle enough for even the most novice surfers. Plus, there's plenty of bars and restaurants nearby to keep you fed and hydrated.

For those who like to combine beach time with a bit of exercise, look no
further than Mooloolaba Beach. This beach is a favorite among joggers
and fitness enthusiasts, thanks to its long, flat stretch of sand and
scenic boardwalk. There's plenty of space for
sunbathing too. Mooloolaba Beach is also home to several water sports
rental shops, so you can try your hand at paddle boarding, kayaking, or
even jet skiing.
If you're after a beach that's a bit more off the beaten path, then head to Peregian Beach. This small, sleepy town is home to one of the most peaceful beaches on the Sunshine Coast. The water is calm and clear, and the sand is soft and powdery. There's also a great little village nearby, with plenty of cafes and boutiques to explore. Just don't expect any wild parties or rowdy crowds here. Peregian Beach is the perfect spot for those who want to unwind and relax.
Last but not least, we have Coolum Beach. This beach is perfect for those who want a bit of everything. The water is perfect for swimming and surfing, and the sand is soft and inviting. But what really sets Coolum Beach apart is its stunning views. The beach is flanked by rocky cliffs and hills, providing a breathtaking backdrop for your day in the sun. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can hike up to the top of Mount Coolum for even more panoramic views. Just be prepared for a bit of a workout. This is a family favourite. There is also a little pop-up market that happens each Friday evening in summer at Tickle Park.
